Picture Untitled in Greenville, Piscataquis, Maine It's a thrilling sight rising up from the hillside atop massive stone walls as if a jewel upon a pedestal. This historic country estate will take your breath away. The seemingly endless mountaintops, the rich colors of the sky and the crystal blue waters of Moosehead Lake will leave you without words. With a perfect balance of warmth and elegance, its style and grace is timeless.

The inn's eight spacious and tastefully appointed guestrooms will invite you to linger. Every comfort is considered. The beds are so plump, the linens are fine, lighting is perfect, robes are thick, towels are plenty, and the baths are beyond description. Most hotels don't have bathrooms with windows. The difference this makes is worthy of a visit. Soak in a deep tub while gazing to the stars and you'll understand. It's an inn with updated amenties but 'old world' charm.
The stately 1891 manor has been restored to perfection. Originally the center peice of a 2,000 acre gentleman's farm, the historic home is one-of-a-kind. The welcoming entry opens to the grand circular stairway and a massive stone fireplace. Pocket doors define the entry to the living room which has nearly floor to ceiling windows framing the lakeviews like fine paintings. This room's fireplace is warm as you sit by the fire and take in the vista spread before you. The dining room, also separated by pocket doors, has yet another fireplace and again the views which tend to take your breath away. Relax in the intimate and cozy library or enjoy the bright and beautiful cafe porch. But, the peice-de-resistance is the broad veranda extending the length of the inn lined with comfortable white wicker chairs and enjoy the spectacular sunsets. Rated one of the TOP TEN restaurants in Maine, the fare is not to be missed. Produce from the inn's own gardens, fresh meats and seafood grilled to perfection on the inn's Aztec, indoor wood buring grill and perhaps the most beautiful dining room you've experienced set dining atop Blair Hill a world apart!
Summer evening concerts under the stars with music that ranges from classical to jazz to blue grass is yet one more incredible reason to visit Blair Hill Inn.

From Boston/Portland: Take I-95 North to the Newport Exit 157 (Formally exit 39). Follow Rt. 7/11 north to Dexter. In Dexter watch specifically for Rt. 23 North to 'Moosehead Lake Region'. Take 23 N into Guilford and follow the signs for 6 &15 North to Moosehead Lake Region. This brings you straight into Greenville. It's about a 30 minute drive from Guilford. When you come into Greenville, the lake will stretch out before you as you come down the hill into the little center of town. There is one overhead hanging light at the center. Go straight through the light for approximately 2 and 1/2 miles and you will see the inn's sign, the inn itself set up the hillside on your right and the stone posts marking the entry to the driveway and marked 351.
