Directions
Getting from San Francisco airport to the Castillo Inn:
There are 3 different ways:
By cab or taxi. The fastest and more expensive if you are traveling alone (2 or more people is a good price since they charge for distance not for number of people). They charge total about $50.00 dollars or so.
By Shuttle or minivans going to San Francisco. They take about 5 or 6 people and they drop them off in geographic order most of the time. They charge about $15.00 to $17.00 dollars per person. Mention to the driver that you are going to a bed and breakfast so he will give you about 1 or 2 dollars off the fare ride.
By Bart (train). If you are on a low budget this one may cost you about $5.00 dollars plus the $1.25 fair for the bus you will take when you get to San Francisco. If you have big luggage or lots of luggage it may be uncomfortable to travel. Please ask an employee where you can take the Bart to San Francisco. Once you are on the Bart, get off on VanNess or the next station Powell. Go up one level and take the Muni train going Outbound, the fair is $1.25. Then get off on Church station. Then go out to Market Street, and walk along towards west, towards Castro Street (you may be able to see a rainbow flag about 3 blocks away). Just walk one block in that direction and make a right turn on Sanchez Street where the Shell gas station is. Walk ˝ (half) a block on Sanchez and make a left on Henry Street (you’ll see a small island in the middle of the street on this corners). Then walk ˝ (half) a block on Henry and 48 Henry is a Victorian, 2 flats (floors) house. 48 Henry is on the left door.
